In a diverse career that spans local, regional, and global leadership roles, Andrea Terrassa is a pioneering business executive with a successful track record of tackling complex restructures focused on driving growth. Not afraid to challenge convention, she is passionate about eliminating complexity to free people to deliver the best work of their careers, driven by a working philosophy centered as much on ambition and excellence as kindness and purpose.
As Dentsu America’s Chief Operating Officer, Andrea is charged with helping the organization drive meaningful growth by setting the stage for effective integration across its Creative, Media and CXM businesses. Andrea is also Dentsu Creative’s Global Chief Operating Officer, where she has played a key role in uniting dentsu’s 100+ creative agencies around the world to form the network in June 2022. The Dentsu Creative network has garnered significant success with meaningful client wins and 1,000+ industry awards across all regions, including 21 Cannes Lions in 2023.
Before the launch of Dentsu Creative Andrea was Chief Operations Officer for dentsu’s US creative brands in the Americas. In this role she united 10 Agencies and despite significant transformation the focus on clients, people and creative excellence remained central, ultimately achieving 130 creative awards in 2021, a shortlist for Campaign’s ‘US Global Agency of the Year ’ and listing on Ad Age’s 2022 ‘Agencies to Watch’. Prior to this Andrea acted as Chief Operations Officer for dentsu US creative agency, 360i, seeing the business achieve double digit revenue growth, in addition to being recognized on Ad Age’s 2018 and 2019 ‘A-list’, awarded 2018 ‘Breakthrough Media Agency of the Year’ and among Campaign’s ‘25 Most Influential’ agencies’.
Andrea began her career at WPP where she spent 18 years, starting as an intern in her native Colombia and working her way up to Global Chief Operations Officer of Red Fuse Communications. A proud Latina and active supporter of women in advertising, Andrea is a passionate advocate that the industry leverages the power of its influence for good. In 2023 she was a Campaign 40 over 40 honoree and was also listed among 50 Women to Watch for Corporate Boards. She holds a Columbia Business School MBA and lives in New Jersey with her husband and three children.
